The ARC/STSA welcomed a new education manager, Gabrielle “Gabby” Muzina, AS, CST, in August. Muzina will be responsible for developing educational programming for our educators, as well as planning and coordinating webinars and events, such as AFE workshops and the AccredX conference.
Muzina brings a passion in education and exceptional communication and customer service skills to her work. Prior to joining ARC/STSA, Gabby was an instructor of surgical technology and the clinical coordinator for her alma mater, Pittsburgh Technical College in Oakdale, Pennsylvania.
Before entering academia, Muzina enjoyed precepting students as she often reflected on the common difficulties clinical students face. Muzina has been a Certified Surgical Technologist for nearly 10 years, having scrubbed at a Level I trauma center, focusing on general, vascular, hepatobiliary, and abdominal transplant surgery.
“I look forward to being a reliable and supportive resource for my colleagues, and I am committed to our collective efforts in promoting the importance of surgical technologist and surgical first assistant students graduating from accredited programs,” said Muzina. “Having spent a few months in this role, my vision as both an educator and surgical technologist has become increasingly focused on our future direction. I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to connect with program directors, clinical coordinators, and deans, and I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead with a commitment to growth and excellence.”
Muzina is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. In her free time, she enjoys camping, skiing, cheering on her favorite Pittsburgh sports team or country artist, and hanging with her best buddy Leo, a rough collie.
Please join ARC/STSA in extending a very warm welcome to Gabby!
