ARC/STSA Board of Directors
The ARC/STSA Board of Directors consists of ten representatives: five appointments from the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) (four surgical technology educators and one surgical assisting educator), and two surgeon representatives appointed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The ARC/STSA appoints one public member, one academic administrator of allied health and one surgical technology educator. The members of the Board of Directors constitute the Accreditation Committee.
The ARC/STSA Board of Directors meets six times annually to review and evaluate program applications and formulate accreditation recommendations. The Board also votes on policies, develops strategic and fiscal planning, provides financial oversight, and oversees the implementation of ARC/STSA’s mission.

Board Members
Subcommittee on Accreditation for Surgical Assisting (SASA) Members
The Subcommittee on Accreditation for Surgical Assisting (SASA) consists of three representatives: one surgical assisting educator representative appointed by the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA) and one surgical assisting educator representative appointed by AST. ARC/STSA appoints one academic administrator of allied health.
SASA reviews and evaluates surgical assisting program applications and formulates recommendations to the ARC/STSA Board of Directors.
