Board of Directors

 

Description

The Board of Directors oversees the accreditation and operational aspects of the ARC/STSA, including strategic planning, and the development and review of policies and procedures.

The Board is charged with reviewing and assessing educational programs in the fields of surgical technology and surgical assisting for compliance with the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Surgical Technology, and the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Surgical Assisting; and, is responsible for decisions regarding the accreditation of these educational programs. Additionally, Board members regularly assess the Standards and Guidelines for currency and pertinence within the education communities served by the ARC/STSA.

The Board of Directors is comprised of 10 members appointed by the members of the Corporation in accordance with the organizational Bylaws, including six educators in the professions of surgical technology and/or surgical assisting, two surgeons, one academic administrator of allied health, and one public representative.
