Pamela Siggers, BS, CST, shared her experiences with the accreditation process:

Creating a brand new program was daunting to say the least. But knowing I could call ARC/STSA at any time of the day made this process so much easier. The staff over at ARC/STSA were always so helpful and showed me not only how to turn my passion for teaching into an accredited program, but also how to demonstrate to the communities of interest that the program at Baptist Health Sciences University was one of great magnitude. The accreditation process was so important to not only the university but also the students. My first cohort went through the entire accreditation process with me; they cheered and cried the day I showed them our certificate of accreditation. And now they can proudly say they helped to not only create a CAAHEP accredited program, but they are also graduates of a CAAHEP accredited program. Hospital staff are elated that they were able to see this program blossom from my own thoughts to a fully functioning program. I am eternally grateful for ARC/STSA. ARC/STSA guarantees the education will be of quality and standards will be met and exceeded.

Pamela Siggers is the director and instructor of the Associate of Science surgical technology program at Baptist Health Sciences University, Memphis, TN. Before bringing her passion to the classroom, Siggers worked for over 6 years at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as a sterile processing tech and CST, specializing in labor and delivery. When she’s not teaching, Siggers is an avid poetry writer and loves to DANCE!

Benson Bradley, MBA, CST, FAST, program director at Carrington College Phoenix shared:

I am proud of the work our team has done to receive initial accreditation from the ARC/STSA. Surgical Technology students at Carrington College will benefit from this accreditation as it ensures they will have a quality educational foundation. It also increases the communities’ confidence in our graduates while allowing transparency through external review for continued program advancement. I would like to thank each of our team members here at Carrington College and the ARC/STSA staff who helped make this accreditation possible.
